You satisfy me more than the richest feast.
I will praise you with songs of joy.
Psalm 63:5
I’ve tasted earthly feasts, Lord, but it is You I want.
Things here that tease my desires, lure my affections, or command my will can never satisfy.
In this parched and weary land, there really is no water.
Only your living Water,
only the miraculous Manna sent from heaven
satisfies.
My heart and soul know this, and yet sometimes I wander
and seek out and sit down to the false feasts.
The bread and water you have for me, Lord—that is what my hunger and thirst truly desire.
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
And let my days lived out be a race run with joy,
a song of praise to my Creator.

O God, you are my God;
I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
where there is no water.
I have seen you in your sanctuary
and gazed upon your power and glory.
Your unfailing love is better than life itself;
how I praise you!
I will praise you as long as I live,
lifting up my hands to you in prayer.
You satisfy me more than the richest feast.
I will praise you with songs of joy.
Psalm 63:1-5
